The world is a confusing place, at least for us humans. On the one hand, we have certain feelings and inclinations that we are driven towards, and on the other hand we have our culture, which in part is responsible for informing us which of these inclinations are normal, which are tolerable, and which are intolerable. Our culture then takes the next step by creating tools with which man can be controlled. A person’s culture can therefore be thought of as a set of social institutions that in large part controls the masses that fall below its penumbra. Most people probably give little thought to such things, but that is all about to change (I hope). The articles and essays proffered forth will in part help to disentangle man from the insidious inculcation of our social environment such that man can instigate social standards which do not result in discontent.
